About Us

Aussie Sapphire is a fully Australian owned online and mail order store based in Glen Innes, NSW Australia. This website is owned and operated by AF and LA Lane (ABN 84 731 562 254) trading as Aussie Sapphire. It is a family run enterprise owned by Andrew and Leah Lane with the help of our two sons Patrick and Angus as well as our other "behind the scene" helpers Malcolm, Noeline, Peter (warehouse/workshop) and Belinda (book keeping).

Established in 1997, Aussie Sapphire started out as an online outlet for Sapphire and other gems from the Reddestone Creek Mine located on our Property. Early in our shop life, we started adding Lapidary products - this grew quickly to become the main focus of the online shop. Since the closure of our sapphire mine, Aussie Sapphire has become a dedicated lapidary supplier.

After over a decade of growth, Aussie Sapphire has grown to become the largest lapidary supply shop in Australia with a massive range of stock items and an Australia-wide customer base.

Hours are normally Monday to Friday 8am to 4pm - please note that we are an online business and email is the preferred method of contact.  If we are busy taking other calls, you will be redirected to the answering service - please leave a detailed message and we will get back to you - however, email is by far the most efficient way of contacting us.

Aussie Sapphire is a working warehouse and most products are not on display.  You can arrange a visit to our warehouse to pickup orders - strictly by appointment only - please contact us first to make sure someone is available to look after you.

Sapphires were mined on the property "Lonewood" on the Reddestone Creek (NSW Australia) as a full time commercial activity since 1977. In 2009 we made the decision to finalize all mining activities - the end of an era but a 32 year lifespan producing some of the worlds finest Blue Sapphire is a great result.

The mine site has now been fully restored and returned to full farm production. At the end of 2012, we sold the property and shifted "Aussie Sapphire" to our current location on the southern edge of Glen Innes where we have built a dedicated warehouse and distribution centre.

We offer:

  • Over 1,500 separate stock lines and growing.
  • Daily Shipping Worldwide.
  • Discounts for Gem Clubs and their members.
  • Reseller Discounts.
  • Warranties handled locally by us.
  • New and exclusive Lapidary products.

Aussie Sapphire is a Fully Registered and Insured supplier - we know that some online suppliers operate without complying with all legal requirements. Importers and resellers must have Product and Public Liability Insurance - cover often ignored by suppliers. MSDS safety sheets must be available for all appropriate products - we provide these online and by request so that you can comply with your OHS requirements.

For Gem Buyers:

We have some stock of faceted Reddestone Sapphire - as we were the last miners to operate this area, we have the last (almost extinct) Sapphire from this famous resource.

Our Guarantee to you:

  • Direct from the mine pricing – we guarantee great value
