A harder, sharper meet-forming version of the popular Matrix lap specially suited for the BLAKSTIK water dispersable diamond polishing system but also useful with convential polishing compounds.
Light pressure with the usual sweeping is recommended.

The "MATRIX™" Ceramic Composite lap has a self-renewing microtexture and surface complexity that allows better polish retention and a less critical fluid film thickness. The MATRIX™ surface was characterized by computer programs similar to those used in the design of all-weather tires.(FD is 1.8927).
The DiaMatrix™ is a toughened, hardened version with a lower complexity that forces a high concentration monolayer on the surface of the lap, providing significantly sharper meets and flatter facets. It is optimized for diamond use, and in particular, for use with the BLAKSTIK™ water-dispersable polycrystalline diamond series of products.
The DiaMATRIX™ is made on a full-thickness master lap baseplate to emulate the heavy rigid feel of a ceramic lap. The MATRIX™ and DiaMatrix concepts were suggested by Adamas Instrument, as was the suggestion of the thicker base.
The DiaMatrix was developed by Adamas and Gearloose as a harder variant of the Matrix lap, providing faceters with a predictable polishing session, very flat facets and very sharp facet meets. This ceramic/polymer composite product is a superior replacement for ceramic laps.
This lap has a permanent microporous surface which accepts diamond powder for a fast polish at slow lap speeds and a narrow sweep.
The DiaMatrix lap was designed to polish gem materials 8 Mohs and harder. Ever had difficulties in polishing Topaz, Cubic Zirconia, Chrysoberyl, Alexandrite, Ruby, Sapphire or Moissonite? No problem with the DiaMatrix.
