DISCONTINUED PRODUCT.  Might just suit you if you are looking for an easy way to use chrome oxide.

For those who want the speed and versatility of Chrome Oxide in a "Just Add Water" lap, with NO green mess... Here it is!  The Waterwing lap has the advantage of including a pre-polish outer ring for accurate cutting.

Only water is needed for pre-polishing and polishing - you do NOT need to add diamond for either step. A drop of "baby shampoo" in the drip tank is helpful for efficient wetting.  It is good practice to wipe the stone between the prepolish and final polish steps.  "Sweeping" is helpful in extending the life of the lap.

The 6" Greenway Lap is a high concentration, reduced friction polishing lap for the beryls, tourmalines, garnets, quartzes and other similar stones.  This composite polymer lap with aluminium backing has chrome oxide already incorporated into the lap so all you need to do is add a little water and start polishing.

As with any oxide-loaded laps, speed can be increased by adding more oxide, but generally, using the damp lap on a 3k, 5k or 8k pre-polished facet does not need this addition - Just Add Water!

Information below from Gearloose:

The success of the Chrome Oxide BATTSTIKs™ in polishing quartzes as well as garnets, tourmaline, the feldspars and peridot did encourage me to incorporate the boundary layer self-burnishing lubrication system used in the DIASTIKs™, together with a hydrophilically-modified version of the Darkside polymer, into a Chrome Oxide polymer "Just Add Water" lap.

The polymer has further been modified to allow exceptionally high oxide loading. Slightly more aggressive than Cerium Oxide on polishing quartzes, it is much more versatile than the Ceria compositions. It does not polish quickly on topaz or spinel, however, and it will probably not be a good candidate for sapphire.

It HAS been a hit with tourmaline, all the beryls including emerald, the quartzes, peridot, garnets, tanzanite and the feldspars. Others will no doubt find success with other minerals.
